How am I supposed to just be these days? If I stay quiet IRL is that the same as not posting on Facebook/Instagram/Wordpress/My Blog for a week?
Will you know I am okay? Will I know I am okay?
If is the internet doesn’t know that I am okay, am I okay?
What is okay anyway?
Is is beautiful and well presented online? Is is the ability to sit still and focus on one task at a time?
Our phones have encouraged us to multitask, and because they aren’t sentient beings they don’t know they are putting our brains in a critical state of overdrive. We are expected to look at one more email, or text, or photo. Or notification.
To check in with others to make sure they are okay, and assure them that we ourselves are okay.
I am struggling with being present in the here and now because my phone keeps buzzing. Notifying me of another email that has come to advertise to me.
What should I buy next? Maybe a personal assistant to manage my phone while I want to do something else like watch TV or read a book.
I am okay, but I am really struggling with just being.
